Community Events
- Spring Scout Day: Learn about life in the 1860s, from work to games, with Spring Scout Day. Scouts of all ages and ranks and their families are invited to join the fun on April 27th from 10am until 3pm. The events take place at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm on 1200 East Kansas City Road. Admission is $7 per scout and includes a Mahaffie patch. One adult is admitted free per child. Families can bring their own lunch.
- Spring on the Farm: Learn what springtime was like for people in the 1860s with Spring on the Farm. The event takes place at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm on 1200 East Kansas City Road. Enjoy blacksmith demonstrations, stagecoach rides, and visits with livestock and bbay farm animals. You can visit the Mahaffie house as well. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 11, and kids 4 and under get in free. If you’re an Olathe resident you enjoy $2 off admission.
- 704 Blue Run: The College Church of the Nazarene will be hosting the 704 Blue Run at 2020 East Sheridan Road on April 27th from 7:04am until noon. You can take part in a 7.04 mile run, a 5k run/walk, of a kids fun run. The run is a tribute to Officer Michael Kern, radio number 704, who passed away in 2015.
