Christmas has ended and New Year’s Eve is coming up. This week in between can be a bit of a limbo between going back to work or school. If you are looking for things to do with the family this weekend, you have plenty of options in and around Olathe.
NYE and More
- Olathe Public Library is hosting a free family movie at the Downtown Library and Indian Creek Library. The feature this week is Smurfs, The Lost Village, rated PG with a running time of 89 minutes. No registration is required, but seating space is limited. Tickets are on a first come, first served basis starting 30 minutes before the show. Children under the age of 5 require an adult accompaniment.
- Mission Bowl in Olathe is hosting a New Year’s Eve Cosmic Bowling starting at 10 p.m. with a $75 lane reservation fee that includes shoe rental and party favors for five people.
- On December 29th, the Olathe Public Library is also hosting a Campout At The Library in the Children’s Storytime Room. Bring your family and your own blankets, sheets, and flashlights. There will be snacks and stories before your family will have time devoted to building a blanket tent and read together by flashlight. The event starts at 5:45 p.m. and lasts about an hour.
- The Doubletree Hotel in Overland Park, KS is home to the American Girl Royal Masquerade Ball on New Year’s Eve. The event reservation includes entry to the Masquerade Ball, a shuttle to the American Girl store opening on January 1st for private shopping, a guestroom with two double beds, and a full breakfast in Trofi Restaurant.
