September 14, 2018

In Olathe, Kansas and the communities nearby, there are plenty of fun things going on this weekend. From the kickoff of the Great Pumpkin Festival to a live musical comedy, there is something fun for everybody to find. E-Care Dentistry is here to serve your family’s smiles with expert dental care.

This Weekend’s Fun

  1. The Drowsy Chaperone is playing at the Olathe Civic Theatre through September 23rd. This comedic musical is a Tony Award-winner and a pure celebration of American music. The musical is fun for the whole family. There are crazy characters from a wedding, gangsters disguised as pastry chefs, and the titular drowsy chaperone.
  2. The Great Pumpkin Fest at Worlds of Fun opens this weekend! The fun starts this weekend and runs through October for some Halloween and Peanuts inspired events and activities. For example, Linus’ Labyrinth is a maze of cornstalks and hay bales that ends in a pumpkin patch where kids get to pick a pumpkin out to take home for themselves. On Saturdays and Sundays, go to Planet Snoopy for Count Snooptacula’s Costume Contest for kids under the age of 11. Each weekend there will be creepy crafts with PigPen and Trick or Treating with Peanuts characters. All of the activities are included in the Worlds of Fun price of admission.
  3. The Theater in the Park in Shawnee, KS is hosting Park Palooza on September 16th. The day is filled with fun for the whole family as a thank you to the residents of Johnson County. Admission is free for live music, activities, and concessions at family prices.
