It’s now officially Spring, and Springtime is a great time to finally get the family outdoors. There are plenty of events in the Olathe, Kansas area to celebrate the season that smells like flowers and fresh grass! Upcoming Springtime Events
- The Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead (13800 Switzer, Overland Park, KS) re-opens soon! It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from April 2nd through Oct. 31st. One of the first signs of spring in the area is the opening day at Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead. Children love feeding goats, watching horses, turkeys, prairie dogs, bison, chickens, and more. There are pony rides, wagon rides, mining, and fishing, as well as exploring a dairy barn, pond, petting zoo, and a historical one-room country schoolhouse.. There is also a children’s butterfly garden, which is a great place to play or take a photo. Group and tours are available, as well as birthday parties to celebrate the big day.
- This year’s Flights of Fancy Festival is on April 21st at MCC-Longview 500 SW Longview Rd. Lee’s Summit, Mo. The festival is free and open to the public. Kite enthusiasts gather each and every year to fly their favorite kites. You and your family can see gigantic kites, stunt kites, Chinese kites, and more.
- Celebrate Olathe takes place on March 30th this year. Each event is held at the Olathe Community Center and Stagecoach Park. Enjoy an Easter Egg hunt, a bounce house, face painting, photo booth and more!
