Prevent Cavities With Sealants

To help prevent tooth decay before it takes hold, we offer sealants to our patients. These are thin films that go over your molars. They are made from either biocompatible plastic or other dental materials, and they add an additional layer of protection to your teeth. Once one has been applied, they serve as a barrier between your teeth and food particles. This, in turn, prevents bacteria from settling into your teeth and causing decay. According to the ADA, they can reduce the risk of decay by up to 80%.

Composite Fillings Can Treat Tooth Decay

If a cavity does develop, a filling is the most common treatment to repair a tooth. It is a restorative process and can get your affected tooth back to good health.

Receiving a filling consists of your dentist carefully drilling into your enamel to remove any decay. They then shape the space, so it can properly accept the filling. Once this is completed, they place the composite filling, which helps your tooth return to its peak health. Your mouth will be completely anesthetized during the process, so you won’t feel a thing.
