What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants not only support prosthetic teeth but can also maintain the overall health of your jawbone. When you are missing teeth, your jaw loses important stimulation that leads to erosion, which effects the integrity of its structure. What’s more is that this stimulation —when you have teeth with intact roots — also releases nutrients into your bloodstream, keeping you healthy and well. This is all to say that in some cases, missing teeth can have effects that extend beyond appearance.

What They Support

In most cases, dental implants help support dental bridges, crowns, and dentures. Rather than having these prosthetics fit onto or around existing teeth, they can be anchored onto biocompatible titanium posts placed in your jawbone. Not only are they more stable, but they also improve the health of your jaw and gums. One of our dedicated dentists will guide you toward selecting the best option for your unique needs and smile goals.
