July Community Events in Olathe

In today’s blog, we would like to look at events coming up in July for Olathe. KS, residents. From 4th of July celebrations to live events and a chance to glimpse life in the 1860s, there is plenty for you and your family to enjoy! Upcoming Community Events

  1. 4th of July Fireworks Display: The Fourth of July Fireworks Display will be at 9:30pm on July 4th. The display takes place at the College Boulevard Activity Center on 11031 South Valley Parkway. Gates open at 4:30pm and participants are encouraged to arrive early. Tailgating is allowed, but open flames, fireworks, alcohol, and pets are prohibited. There will be restrooms and parking available.
  2. Independence Day 1860s Style: Celebrate Independence Day 1860s style with Frank and Ella on July 3rd from 10am until 4pm at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm on 1200 East Kansas City Road. There will be patriotic singing, a chance to sign a copy of the Declaration of Independence, as well as blacksmith and cookstove demonstrations and a visit to the Mahaffie House. Admission is $5 per youth and one accompanying adult gets in free. Admission includes one stagecoach ride. Additional adults cost $5 and kids 4 and under get in free.
  3. Harvest on the Farm: Learn what harvest time on the farm was like in the 1860s with Frank and Ella at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm on 1200 East Kansas City Road. There will be demonstrations of horse-powered harvesting, kids can help bundle wheat, and there will be gardening demonstrations, ice cream making, blacksmith demonstrations, and stagecoach rides. Kids get in for $5 (ages 4 and under are free) and must be accompanied by an adult. One adult gets in free, each additional adult is $5.
  4. Olathe Live: Enjoy a free concert at Frontier Park on 15501 West Indian Creek Parkway from 6pm until 10pm. A great event for the whole family to enjoy!
