Community Events
- Ramadan Community Dinner: City Hall will be featuring a Ramadan Community Dinner on May 20th from 7:30pm until 10pm at 100 East Santa Fe Street. The event will be hosted by the Human Relations Commission and Dialogue Institute of Kansas City. People of all faiths are invited to take part in this fast-breaking dinner, Ramadan iftar, with the local Muslim community. Learn about this important event and take in a complimentary dinner at sundown, followed by a presentation on Muslim history and traditions. People of all ages are welcome!
- Spectacular Sewing Workshop: The Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm (located at 1200 East Kansa City Road) will be hosting a Spectacular Sewing Workshop to teach everything from buttonhole making and French seams to whip stitching and patching, all in the style of the 1860s. All materials will be provided and cost is only $5 per participant. The class takes place from 7pm until 8:30pm.
- Day Out With Frank and Ella: If you and your family want to enjoy a fun day of learning how people lived and worked in the 1860s, take in a Day Out with Frank and Ella at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm on May 29th from 10am until 4pm. Admission is $5 per kid and includes a stagecoach ride. Adults ride for just $2.
- Trails: Learn about living life in the 1860s and about cooking, traveling, and panning for gold in famous trails. The event cost $5 per child and each child must be accompanied for adults. One adult is admitted free per kid, with each additional adult paying $5. The event takes place at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm on June 7th from 10am until 4pm on 1200 East Kansas City Road.
