This Weekend in Olathe
- On February 9th and 10th, Lanesfield School is presenting Valentine’s Day at Lanesfield Historic Site, where you can experience a traditional 1904 Valentine’s Day. You will be able to use pen and ink as you make a valentine and create your own Victorian puzzle purse. The gift shop will be open to buy candy sticks, bonnets, and other treasures from long ago. All ages are welcome to this free drop-in program. Groups with over ten people should call (913) 715-2570 to schedule.
- On February 11th, try out the Sunday Family Nature Series for Laura’s Memories at Ernie Miller Nature Center. The event celebrates beloved author, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and her birthday that was on February 7th. You will be able to meet “Laura” herself as she tell the stories that inspired the classic “Little House” books. The cost of the program is $3 per person including adults and children ages two and under are free to enter. Pre-registration is not required.
- On February 9th, try out a Valentine’s Murder Mystery at the Olathe Indian Creek Libary at 7:00 p.m.
